Losing Or Gaining Weight? Don’t Forget Your Skin

Losing Or Gaining Weight? Don’t Forget Your Skin

On our quest to achieve our fitness goals, we must not lose sight of the importance of skincare. Skincare is soooo important when it comes to losing weight, having a baby or even building muscle. Keeping our skin “oh so soft and subtle” is imperative to that confidence that comes with achieving your goals, whether it is losing or gaining weight. I mean, taking care ourselves goes beyond exercise. It is so many other things and one of them is our appearance. Looking the best that we can be enhances confidence, which will surely lead to bigger and better things. Not only that, if we walk around with our heads held up high and accomplish things we didn’t think were possible, our kids surely will too. One great way to take care of your skin is to incorporate raw shea butter in to your beauty regimen.

I am not talking about the “shea butter” you can find in big commercial stores, I mean the real deal. Raw, unprocessed shea butter can not be found in Walmart or any store similar. You can find it at some health food stores if you are lucky. This butter that comes from the Karite Shea tree in Africa, has Vitamin A and E that are great for the skin. It is known to have anti-aging properties which is always a plus (for me at least lol). It is a wrinkle reducer! Enough said! Shea butter in its raw form is really thick. I like to put on the body parts that don’t see the sun a daily basis (legs, tummy, chest region). I usually put sunscreen on my arms and shoulders since sun damage is real. Shea butter does in fact have mild sunscreening abilities.

For those working hard at the gym (which is all of us, right!), it is a great muscle relaxer. Shea butter has natural anti-flammatory properties. Really great for massages so if you and your significant other are looking to spend some time together. Break out the raw shea butter. Not only will you be getting your “romance on” but you will be doing your muscles and skin a favor.

It is literally delicate enough to use on a baby’s bottom. Here are some of the benefits as well….

  • Prevent Dry Skin
  • Prevent skin irritation for babies
  • Anti-aging and firm skin
  • Even out skin tone
  • Heals scars, burns, bruises, and stretch marks

Till Next Time….keep that skin soft!

  1. Amber this was a great blog on Shea butter, I lost 160 pounds and had so much loose skin, between exercising on my floor with those 5 pound leg weights and the Shea butter…well lets just say I thought I would need surgery for all the wrinkly skin, today I am happy with the results, you just have to keep at caring for your body, it just doesn’t happen overnight…just like with the results of exercising the same goes for skin care, of course all natural skin care, give it a few weeks and you will notice a difference in your skin! Best wishes to you…Love you blogs!
